Mick McGirr

Michael J. “Mick” McGirr is the founding attorney of Phocus Law. Mick provides his clients, primarily businesses and business owners, with a broad and thorough range of legal representation. Through his extensive legal experience and his own forays into entrepreneurship, Mick is able to provide preeminent, thoughtful advice to his clients in business matters ranging from creditors’ rights to corporate finance and investment and from entity formation and structuring to corporate finance and investment. Beyond providing advice, Mick also serves his clients by successfully litigating matters, both simple and complex, and by negotiating and drafting contracts that provide his clients’ interests ironclad protection. Additionally, Mick provides his clients with estate-planning advice, working together with the other Phocus Companies partners to provide each client with dynamic and forward-thinking strategies for wealth preservation.

Mick completed his undergraduate study in Political Science at Brigham Young University – Hawaii, where he also competed as a NCAA Division 2 golfer. Mick received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Mick is a member of the Arizona Bar, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He frequently teaches and lectures to various trade groups on a variety of business law issues.

When not at the office or in court, Mick enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing golf or basketball, and being outdoors. Mick is also active in the classic car restoration and drag-racing communities, working on and racing his 1969 Camaro.
